Coralyne is a synthetic analog of berberine related to protoberberine-isoquinoline alkaloids. Isoquinoline derivatives and analogs are renowned as potent radiosensitizers with potential medical application. In the present study, we investigated the effect of coralyne on the cell death, cytoskeletal changes and cell cycle progression of irradiated A549 cells. A clonogenic assay revealed that coralyne pretreatment decreased the viability of A549 cells in a time- and dose-dependent manner. Moreover, exposure to coralyne and ionizing radiation (IR) markedly altered the filamentous actin cytoskeletal architecture and integrin-β binding sites of A549 cells. Treatment with 1–25 µM coralyne in combination with 2 Gy of IR significantly reduced the percentage of cells in G2/M phase compared with 2 Gy IR alone. These results indicate that coralyne is a potent radiosensitizing agent that may find an application in medicine. 相似文献

This paper presents a theoretical and experimental study on two different methods to evaluate the sign of a determinant with
integer entries. The first one is a method based on the Gram—Schmidt orthogonalization process which has been proposed by
Clarkson [Cl]. We review his algorithm and propose a variant of his method, for which we give a complete analysis. The second
method is an extension to n × n determinants of the ABDPY method [ABD+2] which works only for 2 × 2 and 3 × 3 determinants. Both methods compute the sign of an n× n determinant whose entries are integers on b bits, by using exact arithmetic on only b +O(n) bits. Furthermore, both methods are adaptive, dealing quickly with easy cases and resorting to full-length computation only
for null determinants.

Using a fixed point relation based on the logarithmic derivative of the k-th order of an algebraic polynomial and the definition of the k-th root of a disk, a family of interval methods for the simultaneous inclusion of complex zeros in circular complex arithmetic was established by Petković [M.S. Petković, On a generalization of the root iterations for polynomial complex zeros in circular interval arithmetic, Computing 27 (1981) 37–55]. In this paper we give computationally verifiable initial conditions that guarantee the convergence of this parallel family of inclusion methods. Explanations of working memory span in children were studied in a longitudinal follow-up of J. N. Towse, G. J. Hitch, and U. Hutton (1998). Reading span and operation span were lower when within-task retention intervals were lengthened. For each task, variation in span between test waves and age cohorts was systematically related to changes in processing speed. The two spans explained substantial shared variance in both reading and arithmetic scores, with some evidence for domain specificity. Combined span scores predicted unique variance in scholastic attainment over a 1-year interval. The authors concluded that working memory span is constrained by rapid loss of active codes and is not simply a measure of capacity for resource sharing. We describe a vectorized algorithm for an interval arithmetic Newton-like method for a class of systems of nonlinear equations arising from discretizations of nonlinear elliptic PDE. This method converges to a solution under relatively weak conditions. It is founded on a combination of a Newton-like interval method and interval arithmetic ‘fast’ direct solver. It has been observed by many researchers that systolic arrays are very suitable for certain high-speed computations. Using a formal methodology, we present a design for a single simple programmable linear systolic array capable of solving large numbers of problems drawn from a variety of applications. The methodology is applicable to problems solvable by sequential algorithms that can be specified as nested for-loops of arbitrary depth. The algorithms of this form that can be computed on the array presented in this paper include 25 algorithms dealing with signal and image processing, algebraic computations, matrix arithmetic, pattern matching, database operations, sorting, and transitive closure. Assuming bounded I/O, for 18 of those algorithms the time and storage complexities are optimal, and therefore no improvement can be expected by using dedicated special-purpose linear systolic arrays designed for individual algorithms. The next revision of the standard Fortran language, commonly referred to as Fortran 8x, has now been published, at least in draft form. It is therefore possible for some of its new features to be investigated and the type of programming that can be expected when implementations appear to be explored. This paper looks at the scope provided by the proposed new features for 'semantic extension' of the language. The capability is illustrated by way of example code which could provide an extended-precision numeric facility if implemented.
